Leek And Cottage Cheese Meatballs recipe is a tasty appetizer. Like the leek and cottage cheese pie, which tastes great, so do these meatballs with few ingredients and very quickly.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 leeks
  • 3-4 tbsp full of cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp full of lugë shredded white cheese
  • 1 egg
  • oregano
  • salt, pepper, olive oil
  • 2-3 tbsp of Semolina flour + other for breading

Directions

  1. First, we will clean the leeks well in running water. Next, chop them finely.
  2. In a pan, add two tablespoons of olive oil. Add the leeks and a little salt and cook with the lid covered on medium heat for 10-15 minutes until softened.
  3. Then, pass the cooked leeks in a colander to eliminate the juices they may have.
  4. Next, in a deep bowl, add the drained leeks. Also, add cottage cheese, egg, grated cheese, salt, and pepper. As well, add another 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, oregano, and semolina flour and mix it all. 
  5. Then, with the help of a spoon, we take from the mixture, shape it with our hands and pass it again in semolina flour. Also, you can use breadcrumbs or cornflour for outside breading.
  6. We will transfer them to a pan lined with parchment paper and bake them in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven, transfer to a serving platter and serve warm or room temperature with the sauces or salads you like.
