Oven Roasted Leeks Recipe

Leek is part of winter food menus and nutritional diets, seasonal greens with a different flavor compared to onions or garlic, and that tastes best in every recipe we prepare with it. Today, we want to share the Oven Roasted Leeks Recipe, a quick and delicious vegetarian recipe.

Baked leeks can cook in several ways, roasting like any other greens marinated in salt, spices, and olive oil and consumed as a side dish, or combined with minced meat or meat cut into pieces for a tasty second plate. Today’s recipe cook with a few ingredients that we all have at home or can easily prepare. Bechamel sauce gives a lot of flavor to leeks both in this recipe and by adding it to other oven recipes when we also use minced meat. This dish is served warm as a side dish or main vegetarian dish.

Ingredients

  • 4-leeks
  • 2-3 tbsp cottage cheese or crushed fetta cheese
  • 350-400 ml of bechamel sauce
  • salt, pepper, olive oil
  • one egg yolk
  • 2-3 tbsp of Parmigiano or Grana ground cheese

Directions

  1. We will rinse the leeks well and cut them into thin slices.
  2. In a non-stick pan or skillet, with 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, sauté the leeks with the lid covered in their juice until tender.
  3. Meanwhile, in another pan, we prepare the bechamel, mixing the butter with the flour until the flour golden, and add the milk, stirring so that it does not become granular. Cook over low heat until the bechamel thick, add salt, pepper, let it cook a little more, and at the end, we will add the egg yolk. Read the full Bechamel Sauce recipe.

  5. We bake it in the preheated oven to 200 degrees Celcius for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve it warm.
