Ingredients

  • 200 ml of lukewarm milk
  • 10 g of dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 360 g of flour
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • Vegetal oil

For stuffing

  • 1 cooked chicken breast
  • 1 egg
  • 300-350 g ground cheese
  • 1 tsp of salt, black pepper

Butter to spread on the surface

Directions

The Dough

  1. First, we will prepare the dough for our bread. With this amount of dough, we can make two large pitas. You can increase the doses for more pita bread.
  2. The first step is to dissolve the yeast in a bowl along with the milk. We use lukewarm but not hot milk so that the heat does not kill the yeast.
  3. In another bowl, mix the salt, sugar, and flour. Start kneading the bread dough by mixing the flour mixture with the liquid one.
  4. When the dough starts to form, we will collect the dough by kneading it with a little vegetal oil. We do not use other flour.Stuffed Pita Bread-Family Cooking Recipes
  5. When we get a soft dough, round it, and place it in an oiled bowl, and oil the dough again on the surface.
We will cover it with cellophane and a napkin and let it rise for 1-2 hours until it doubles the volume.

Filling cooking

  1. During this time, we will prepare the filling. Boil the chicken breast with water and salt. You can add some vegetables to cook the chicken breast. The chicken broth is delicious to make a soup.

  2. After boiling, we clean the meat from the bones and grind it in a kitchen shredder.

  3. Put the minced meat in a bowl, add an egg, salt, pepper, and grated cheese. I used Mozzarella and Guda cheese. You can use the cheese you like best. Mix well to obtain a mass.

Bread Filling

  1. When the dough doubles the volume, we will round it and divide it into two equal parts, which we round shape again. Do the same with the filling, dividing it into two equal parts and rounding them like the dough.Stuffed Pita Bread-Family Cooking Recipes
  2. You can choose to open the dough with flour and a roller or sprinkle the top with a little vegetal oil. Open the dough with your oily hands. First, we open a hand-sized diameter by calculating that the filling part can wrap with this layer.Stuffed Pita Bread-Family Cooking Recipes
  3. We wrap the filling well. Join the sides of the layer and open the dough in one pita bread evenly.

  4. Transfer it to a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Open it well, make an opening in the middle of the bread with your finger, and bake it in a preheated oven at 250 degrees until it turns golden.Stuffed Pita Bread-Family Cooking Recipes
  5. When the bread is ready, take it out of the oven, and grease it with butter as hot as it is. It will be soft from butter.
