Spinach is one of the green leaves vegetables that never miss in our table all year. We can enjoy it and benefit from its nutritional values consuming it in salads, appetizers, finger foods, first plates, or second ones. The spinach can eat raw or cooked steamed, in a pan or pot, microwave, and oven. Today, we want to share our Oven Baked Spinach Recipe. It is quick and easy to prepare, in a few minutes, and less than 30 minutes to enjoy and taste it. This cooking recipe can serve as a one serving dish, appetizer, or a side dish in a family lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 500 g of raw spinach
- 200 ml of cream or bechamel sauce
- 3 tbsp ground Guda or Mozarella cheese
- 1 tbsp ground Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper
Directions
- First, we clean and let the spinach sit for some minutes in water and baking soda, and after that, we rinse it well. Cut the roots and thick stalks ( do not throw the stalks away, and we can use them to prepare a vegetable broth or soup mixing with other veggies).
- Cut spinach leaves, and add it in a pan with a little olive oil. Add a little salt, and cook it for 2-3 minutes, covered with a lid in medium heat. You will see that spinach’s volume will reduce in a minute.
- We turn off the heat and add the cream, and season it with black pepper. Add a part of the cheese.
- The cooked spinach, add in a ceramic baking dish (you can use one serving dishes if you like ) and add the rest of the ground cheese on the top of the baking dish.
- We transfer the baking dish in the preheated oven at 200 degrees and bake it for about 20-25 minutes, or until it golden brown on the surface. Serve it warm.
