Roasted Turkey with Scone
As for our today recipe, this is the choice in our family, simple, with few ingredients, and very tasty, and I am sure it will also be one of the menu choices for the New Year dinner for many of you.
It may seem like a simple recipe, but simple things are the most delicious. The secret is to choose quality and fresh ingredients.
I have picked an organic turkey raised by trusted local farmers. Turkey meat has a good and unique taste, which is also one of the healthiest choices for the holidays, especially the turkey breast part, which recommends for any age in the family.
Ingredients
One Turkey about 3-4 kg
Olive Oil
Salt, black pepper
A scone as a side dish
Directions
We clean the turkey, wash it, and dry it with kitchen paper. Marinate it well with salt and black pepper inside and out, grease it well with plenty of olive oil and place it in the pan. Cover the pan with aluminum foil, wrapping the paper tightly around each corner of the baking pan.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and put the turkey to bake. It will take 3-4 hours to cook, depending on the weight, or much more sometimes. Calculate about 1 hour of cooking time for each kg of turkey meat. I do not remove the aluminum paper during the baking time. In this way, the steam and the juice that the turkey emits during the baking will make it soft and delicious to eat.
You can carefully take out the baking pan and look at the turkey after the first two hours to check the baking result. You can even turn it over by the other side if you put it to bake lying flat on the casserole and not on its back. If there is not much juice in the baking pan, add a glass of hot water and cover well, and put it back in the oven to continue baking.
Check if it cooked or not by pulling the turkey thigh slightly. The turkey bakes well when its thigh detaches easily from the turkey body part.
When the baking complete, we will let it cool for about 30 minutes or 1 hour and serve it on the table for the pleasure of our friends and family. We cut the chest part into thin slices offering to all. Everyone in our family likes oven-baked and served turkey in this way.
How to prepare Pershesh with a scone
We cook the wheat scone to accompany the roasted turkey. We cook the scone only with wheat flour and baking soda, and you can on how to prepare and cook it by reading the article about the Pule Me Pershesh recipe.
