Jam Tart is a simple dessert with a dough base prepared with butter, eggs, flour, and sugar, combined with your favorite jam for a perfect breakfast or snack dessert. We want to share today the directions to prepare your homemade Easy Jam Tarts deliciously. We cook our recipe with fig jam and blackberry jam, but you can try it with your favorite ones, following our directions to prepare the tart dough base and the crust properly.
Ingredients
For the dough
- 1-egg and one egg yolk
- 150 g of butter
- 150 g of sugar
- 300 g all-purpose flour
- Salt
- ground lemon zest
- one package of baking powder

Directions
- In a large bowl, toss the flour, sugar, minced skin of an organic lemon, and a pinch of salt. Add the baking powder and cold butter from the refrigerator in small pieces. Mix well so that the butter forms a kind of granulation with the flour. Add the eggs and mix it all. We will knead the dough shortly, which we wrap with a transparent paper, and let it sit in the refrigerator for one hour.
- Once the time has passed, we roll the dough in a 7 mm thick layer above one folded baking paper. It will help us to open it lightly and place it in the baking tart pan.
- We transfer it to the baking pan and cut the excess pieces that come out sideways. We add the jam.
I used two different types of jam, fig and blackberry jams, but you can use your favorite ones. From the remaining dough, we cut strips that we place on top to decorate our tart in the form of nets.
- Bake it for 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. The top will turn reddish. Perfect for breakfast with a glass of milk or coffee.
