Yogurt Cookies Recipe

This Yogurt Cookies Recipe or Kullure is a traditional Albanian treat that cooks for decades by our mothers, a solution with few ingredients, but very healthy and delicious. You can prepare these cookies for any period of the year, consume them for breakfast, during the day, as a snack, etc.

These cookies are a tasty solution even for small children as you can prepare them salty or sweet, with a little sugar or at all. It cooks with yogurt, eggs, and baking soda, which should not be missing in this recipe, then the aromas or the amount of sugar are in your preference. The dough kneaded soft, and with the help of two spoons, we will give it shape and directly in the oven, where for about 20 minutes, we have them ready to taste.

Ingredients

  • 350 g all-purpose flour
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 2-eggs
  • 100 ml of yogurt
  • 50 ml of olive oil
  • 50 g of butter
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • a little salt
  • lemon or orange zest

Directions

  1. Melt the butter without letting it heat up or leave it for a few hours at room temperature.
  2. In a bowl, we will add the eggs, a little salt, and sugar, and we will beat them together until it becomes a creamy mass.
  3. We will add oil mixed with butter, lemon or orange peel, or vanilla if you prefer it more, we will mix them well. Add the yogurt and mix again.
  4. We will gradually add the sifted flour mixed with the puff pastry and baking soda. We will shape the prepared dough with two spoons and transfer it to a pan with baking paper.

  5. We will set them to bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes until the biscuits turn reddish.
  6. If you want, you can also sprinkle it with powdered sugar, but they are much tasty even without using powdered sugar.
