Ingredients
- 1 kg of leeks
- 200 g of smoked meat
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- 2-3 tbsp of tomato sauce
- bay leaves
- salt, pepper
- Lemon
Directions
- First, we will clean the leeks and rinse them carefully because there is soil between the leaves. We will use the stalks and not the leaves for this recipe.
- Then, cut the leeks on wheels – 1.5-2 cm and keep them separate.
- Next, chop the onion finely and carrot into cubes.
- Then, in a deep non-stick pan or skillet, sauté the onion and carrot in olive oil for a few minutes.
- Also, add the smoked meat cut into small pieces and the chopped leeks and stir together for a few minutes.
- Also, add a little salt and cover with a lid to soften quickly.
- Then, after we have mixed it several times and see that it has softened enough, we add the tomato sauce. Also, add the bay leaves and black pepper.
- As well, add water or broth until it is covered.
- Then, let it cook for about ten minutes covered by a lid.
- Meanwhile, we preheated the oven to 200 degrees. Put the preparation in an oven pan and put it in the oven for 40 minutes.
- First, we cover the pan with aluminum foil. Then, remove it from the end of cooking time. In this way, the leeks cook very well and eventually take on the reddish color on top.
- Finally, serve the oven-baked leek casserole warm with lemon slices and toast.
Bon Appetit!
