Goat is one of the types of meat that we eat with pleasure in the spring. Today, we want to share Oven Baked Goat, a main dish for holidays, family joys, or family lunches on the weekends.
In this article, we will show you how to bake a whole baby goat in the oven. We will bake it without cutting it into pieces. You can doubt the result, but I assure you it matures very well. Usually, the kids in this period are not very big. All we need is the right baking pan. You can choose to bake whole goat or half of it.
Goat or lamb likes by most people. These types of meats are lighter for our organism. They preferred to be consumed at this time of year because they are young, fresh, and without much fat. They also occupy an important place in traditional Albanian cuisine.
This kind of cooking prefers on family holidays. It accompanied by various salads and appetizers, will make our menu complete and the guests will be satisfied.

Ingredients
- A whole baby goat about 5-6 kg
- salt, black pepper, red pepper
- olive oil
- Rosemary
- 1 kg of potatoes as a side dish
Directions
- We will start the work by washing and cleaning the meat well. Goat meat should thoroughly clean as hairs remain on the skin. We will let it drain and wipe it with kitchen paper.
- Marinate the meat with salt, black pepper, red pepper, olive oil, and rosemary.
- We place it in a large and deep oven casserole. Place it well in the pan so that the meat stays inside the pan.
- We will bake the meat in the preheated oven at 200 degrees for about 2 hours and 30 minutes. The cooking time depends on the weight of the goat meat you will bake and your oven. The kid should get a reddish tinge on the surface. We check it with a fork. It comes out lightly when the meat cooks properly.
- Peel and cut in big pieces the potatoes and add to the baking pan to bake with the baby goat.
I placed the potatoes in the last hour of roasting the meat. If you are going to use small potatoes even better, leave them like that without cutting. Potatoes are optional. You can choose to add them or not. They are a tasty side dish to goat meat. - Depending on the oven, you can cover the meat during the baking time.
At the end of cooking, the meat will turn out soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. - We serve this recipe warm and accompany it with fresh seasonal salads, Yogurt sauce, and high-quality red wine.
