Ingredients
- 400 g of all-purpose flour
- 160 g of butter
- 40 g of hazelnuts
- 1- egg
- 2-3 tbsp of honey
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 50 g bitter cocoa
- 200 g powder sugar
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 3-4 tbsp of milk
- a little salt
- For decor: Colored candies and powdered sugar
Directions
The dough
- We will sift the flour and cocoa and mix them both in a deep bowl. Add a little salt, puff pastry, and sugar.
- We will take 2-3 tablespoons of sugar and mix it with the hazelnuts, which we grind as finely as possible in a kitchen shredder. We also add this mass to the dry ingredients.
- Meanwhile, in another bowl, we will mix the butter at room temperature and with a spatula. We will work it together with the egg until it makes a single mass.
Add the honey and the melted chocolate. - Add this butter mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix all well to create a homogeneous dough.
Add the milk gradually as it is needed to make the dough properly. There is no need to add too much milk, so we let it add at the end depending on how much it will be needed to bind the dough properly. - We can roll the dough directly and shape it, but since it is a butter-based dough, I suggest you let it rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Cookies Preparation and Baking
- Once the time passed, turn on the oven to preheat at 180 degrees. Prepare a baking tray with baking paper and start to roll the dough. .
- We open a layer with a thickness of about 5 mm and cut it into shapes. Place the cookies in the baking tray, place the colored candies on the surface and bake for about 10 minutes.
- Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and sprinkle them with powdered sugar as desired.
- Serve them for breakfast or with a cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of milk. They are delicious to serve at banquets, parties, or daily.
