This Easy Homemade Plum Jam recipe is one of fall’s jams that should not be missing on the shelves of your kitchen, and when it makes at home, it is the best. This jam cook with three ingredients, plums, sugar, and lemon.
I do not use water added to my jams or marmalades. Also, you can add cinnamon or vanilla for a unique taste.
Now, it is the right time to find well-ripen and sweet plums to prepare a jam and marmalade full of flavor and with sugar in moderate amounts if we want.
Preparatory work for cooking jams does not take much time. Just wash the plums well, drain them from the excess water and divide them in half, removing the core.

Ingredients
- 1 kg of plums (net weight, without cores)
- 500 g of sugar
- juice and zest of one lemon
- cinammon stick (optional)
Directions
- First, we cut the cleaned plums into pieces and place them in a non-stick pot.
- Next, add the zest and juice of the lemon and put them on the fire to simmer for 5 minutes until they release their liquid.
- After that, add the sugar and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally. You can also add a cinnamon stick if you wish.
- Next, we will boil it until we see that the jam gets the right thickness. We can leave it in this texture or even blend it for a marmalade jam.
- During the jam cooking time, we will sterilize the jars well by boiling them in water or at a high temperature in the oven. Next, add the still-hot jam to them. We close them up, leaving a few millimeters empty.
- Once ready, close the lids tightly and place the jars upside down until completely cooled.
- When we turn them again, we will check the cap with our fingers. The cork should not click and should be flat.
- Like any jam, we can enjoy it after 24 hours, while the closed jars are stored in a dark place and dried. After opening, store the jars in the refrigerator to consume within a few days.
Bon Appetit!
