Fall is at the doorstep, and hazelnuts are one of the seasonal fruits that we consume a lot in our family. Today, I’m going to share with you an Easy Hazelnut Tart Recipe.

This Hazelnut Tart is a delicious dessert. Also, it is easy to prepare. So, for this tart, we will use a shortcrust pastry base and a hazelnut cream filling, which melts in your mouth.

Furthermore, we can enjoy and serve it for breakfast or as a snack for kids accompanied by coffee, tea, fruit juices, etc.

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 120 g of butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Lemon zest
  • 1 tsp baking powder

For the hazelnut filling

  • 120 g of soft butter
  • 120 g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1-2 tbsp of honey
  • 150 g of ground hazelnuts
  • 1 tbsp of flour
  • Vanilla or cinnamon flavor
  • 50 g hazelnuts

Directions

Shortcrust Pastry

  • First, we will prepare the base for the tart. So, this is how we will make a shortcrust pastry dough with the above-listed ingredients. In a bowl, add flour, baking powder, sugar, grated lemon peel, and cold butter in pieces, and mix until it makes a granular mixture.
  • Next, add the egg and knead the dough, working lightly to obtain a soft dough.
  • Then, wrap it in a cellophane bag and let it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Hazelnut Tart Filling

We continue with the preparation of the filling.

  • First, we will finely grind the hazelnuts in a kitchen grinder.
  • In a bowl, separate the yolks from the egg whites. Beat the egg whites with a spoonful of sugar until they become a stable meringue.
  • Next, in another bowl, beat the soft butter with the rest of the sugar until you get a creamy mixture. Also, add the egg yolks and mix again.
  • Then, add honey, flour, vanilla, or cinnamon flavor and mix well. We will add the chopped hazelnuts. In the end, add the beaten meringue egg whites. Then, mix with a spatula from the bottom up so the volume does not fall. The filling is ready.

  • Next, prepare a 28 cm tart baking pan. So, brush it with butter and dust it with flour. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees.
  • Then, take shortcut dough and roll it. Next, lay it on the baking dish and cover the bottom and sides of our tart shape. Cut off the excess dough and pour the prepared filling on the pie dish. Level it carefully and add the hazelnuts scattered over the entire surface.
  • Next, put it to bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the sides take a reddish color and separate from the sides of the baking pan.
  • Take it out of the oven after it’s ready, let it cool, and then transfer it to a plate for serving. We serve our hazelnut pie cut into pieces. You can accompany it with ice cream or fresh fruit if you like.
