Albanian Pite

Albanian Pite is traditional cooking, much preferred for the breakfast, and at the same time a lovely cooking for camping, one daily excursion, or vacations. We recommend it as a smart solution when we need to cook breakfast for many persons. One of your breakfast’s recipes is this one. Simple to prepare and with only a few ingredients, but delicious and tasty to consume with various salty cheeses and butter or sweet jams or honey.

Ingredients- 10 Albanian Pite

  • 450g all-purpose flour
  • 1-egg
  • 250 ml of yoghurt or milk
  • 8 g baking powder or bicarbonate di soda
  • 8 g salt
  • 1-teacup of Vegetal oil (corn or sunflower oil) for the fry

Directions

  1. In a deep glass bowl, add the egg and yoghurt or milk, and mix well.
  2. Add the salt and gradually and the sifted flour with the baking powder. Work well mixing all the ingredients until creating a soft dough, like the phyllo dough or softer.   3. Let the dough to rest for 20 minutes, covering with a pellicle.
