This Red Velvet Cake Recipe is a tasty and easy to prepare dessert. Since it prepares with a sponge in red color, it is one of our suggestions for you this Valentine’s Day. It is a delicate dessert with cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients
- 110 g of butter
- 300 g of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 200 ml of vegetal oil
- 240 ml of buttermilk
- 1 tsp of white vinegar
- 310 g of flour
- 2 tbsp of bitter cocoa
- 2 tsp of baking powder
- a little salt
- Vanilla
- Red food coloring in gel
Cream Frosting
- 250 g of mascarpone
- 250 g of Filadelfia
- 150 g of icing sugar
- 400 ml of whipping cream
- a little vanilla
Directions
- We start the work by first preparing the base of the cake.
- In a bowl, we will mix all dry ingredients. We add flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. We will mix dry ingredients and sift them well.
- In a large bowl, mix the softened room temperature butter and sugar with an electric hand beater. After a few minutes, the mixture will be creamy.
- We will add one by one the room temperature eggs. We will add the second egg after the first one absorbs well.
- Add the oil and continue mixing for another two minutes.
- We will add the buttermilk) to which we also add the vinegar before we add it to the dough.
- Add this mixture to the cake dough, and after it, we will add the dry ingredients.
- We will add them gradually and continue mixing.
- Finally, when all the flour absorbs, we will add the gel food coloring. If you do not have gel but powder, it is good to mix it with a spoon of milk before adding it to the dough.
- We will take two baking pans of the same size and grease them with butter and sprinkle them with flour. Divide the dough into two equal parts and arrange it in the pan.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
- We do the toothpick test before turning off the oven. If you do not have two identical baking pans, then use one and cut it into two parts after it cools. Let the cake cool and get the cream ready.
Frosting Cream
- Beat the whipping cream separately with an electric hand beater.
- Mix the soft cheese and cream cheese with the powdered sugar well until it becomes creamy.
- We will add the beaten cream, mixing it carefully.
- We will assemble the cake. Put a layer of velvet cake on the bottom, cover it with a layer of cream, add another layer and repeat the process.
- Cover it all with frosting cream and decorate as you like it. Let it sit in the fridge for a few hours and serve.
