Simple Cannelloni Recipe

Cannelloni is a lasagna type assembled in the shape of a tube, which cooks filling with different ingredients and recipes according to preference or with what is at home. Today we will bring a classic recipe of this type of paste, this Simple Cannelloni Recipe, a delicious combining of cannelloni pasta with Spinach, Ricotta, and Bechamel sauce.
Spinach combines best with dairy products, and like we prepare the filling for the spinach pie, we will do the same for the preparation of the filling for the Cannelloni.
It is a tasty vegetarian dish, a quick first plate to eat in our daily, ta eat in our work lunch, or cooking it for our weekend meals.

Ingredients for 6 Cannelloni ( 2 Servings)

  • 6 Cannellonis that does not need to boil first
  • 150 g of spinach
  • 125 g ricotta cheese
  • 50 g ground cheese
  • 1-egg
  • salt, pepper, olive oil
  • 200 ml of bechamel sauce

For the bechamel sauce

  • 1 tbsp of butter
  • 1 tbsp of flour
  • 200 ml of milk
  • salt, pepper, nutmeg

Directions

  1. First, we prepare the bechamel sauce. In a pan, add the butter to melt it, add the flour and mix with a wooden spoon at a low temperature until it turns golden but does not burn. We will remove the pan from the heat, let it cool a bit, and add the warm milk gradually, stirring so that the flour dissolves and does not become grains. We will put it on medium heat and mix it until the mass starts to thicken.
  2. In a saucepan of boiling salted water, cook the spinach for 3-4 minutes. We will let it cool, grind it with a knife, and place it in a bowl. We will add the ricotta cheese, the egg, a part of the minced cheese, salt, pepper, olive oil and mix them well to form a creamy mass.

  3. We will take a casserole, coat its base with bechamel, and place the stuffed cannelloni pasta. We fill them with a small spoon, add the rest of the bechamel sauce and the rest of the grated cheese.

  4. We will bake it in a preheated oven at 190 degrees Celcius for 30 minutes until it gets a reddish color.
