This Semolina Recipe is a warm flavored appetizer. If you like the aroma and taste of semolina, this is one of the recipes you can cook. We cook today with spinach and kashkaval cheese.
Furthermore, you can combine semolina with various cheese, ham, bacon, or veggies following the same cooking process for a savory flan.
Also, we can cook semolina with milk, vegetable juice but also just water.
Moreover, we can bake it in one serving pan or a large pan and cut it into pieces. Be sure to let it cool before cutting it into pieces.
Ingredients-4 Servings
- 125 g of semolina
- 500 ml of milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 50 g of butter
- 2 tbsp of olive oil
- 50 g of minced kashkaval or Parmesan cheese + 2 tbsp for the top
- 3-4 sliced roasted bacon into pieces
- 3 sliced of soft or smoked cheese (optional)
- 100 g of cooked spinach
- salt, pepper
- bread crumbs
Directions
- First, we will put the boiled milk to get hot. When it starts to boil, add the semolina as rain and mix.
- Then, when semolina absorbs all milk, we will mix it for another 3-4 minutes with a wooden spoon.
- After it cools down a bit we will add the egg yolks, butter, grated cheese, and bacon. Mix well. Also season it with salt, if necessary.
- Grease the pan or forms where we will bake it with butter and sprinkle it with bread crumbs.
- Then, pour half of the dough into the casserole, place the spinach, cheese slices and cover with the rest of the dough.
- Finally, sprinkle on top with minced cheese and bread crumbs.
- Next, bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- In the end, remove from the oven, let it cool, and then serve it lukewarm.
Bon Appetit!
