Jufka or homemade pasta is traditional Albanian cooking of the northeastern province of Albania, but that is liked and cooked in every Albanian kitchen.
Furthermore, Jufkat cooks in several ways, season with a little butter, but also combined in a casserole with different types of meat, such as beef or chicken.
Today, we want to share the oven-baked recipe of traditional Jufka with beef.
It is a simple dish to prepare, but much tasty to enjoy at a weekend’s meals or even during the week.
Like all types of pasta, Jufkat is a favorite of all, including young children.
Ingredients
- 500 g of Jufka
- 500 g of beef
- Olive Oil or butter
- salt
Directions
- First, put the beef, washed and cut into pieces, in a pressure cooker with salt, olive oil, and 2 cups of water, and close the lid, setting it to cook for 25-30 minutes.
- To prepare the most delicious Jufka, we need to give it a light color by stirring it in a pot with 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil until they get a golden color.
You can even do this process in the oven, leaving Jufka sprinkled with a little olive oil for a few minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius until golden. Jufkat needs a light simmer after the oven to cook as well as possible.
We can add water or hot meat juice directly to the baking pan, but it will take longer to cook, and we will have to cook it covered. - In the pot where we stir-fry them, we throw hot salty water enough to cover them and let them cook. It does not need to cook for a long time.
- When they have absorbed all water, we transfer them to a glass baking pan. Add the cooked meat on top and the meat stock, too. Add a little olive oil.
- Put the baking pan in the preheated oven to bake at 200 degrees Celcius for 15 -20 minutes. The baking Jufka will get a radish color on the top. Serve this dish warm.
