This Homemade Sandwich Bread Recipe is one of the bread recipes you should try. I baked it with both all-purpose flour and wholemeal flour, and this bread is tasty and stays soft for a few days.
We can prepare this recipe the day before and make small sandwiches or panini by filling and enjoying them in different ways to create a table full of colors and flavors for a party or family banquet.
Ingredients
- 500 g of flour
- 250 ml lukewarm milk
- 15 g dry yeast
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of salt (facultative)
- 1 egg
- 50 ml of olive oil
for topping
- one egg yolk plus one tbsp of milk
- Sesame seeds
- Nigella seeds
Directions
- Preparation is quite simple. In a bowl, add all the dry ingredients. In a part of the milk, we mix the yeast and add it to the bowl where we have the flour.
- Add the other amount of milk, egg and knead the dough. Finally, we add the oil. Knead it for a few minutes.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 2-3 hours.
- Passing the time, we will knead the dough for another 2-3 minutes. Divide it into equal balls weighing 40-45 g each. For this, we use a kitchen scale.
- We take a casserole and cover it with baking paper and place the well-rounded panini at a distance from each other.
- Cver them and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
- Once the time passes, we will coat them with egg yolk mixed with a spoonful of milk and sprinkle them on the surface with sesame seeds and nigella. You may not even use sesame or nigella seeds if you do not prefer them.
- Bake them in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
- We take them out of the oven and let them cool. Serve sandwich bread for breakfast, picnic, etc.
Bon Appetit!
