We always shared with you various fruit cake recipes to sweeten your day. In my opinion, fruit cakes are healthier and tastier due to the fresh fruits’ favor. We also use a moderate quantity of sugar in these recipes.
The Homemade Orange Cake Recipe, that I will share today is a simple recipe. We prepare it in five minutes and enjoy it as desired for breakfast, after a meal, or in our snack time. The cake is very light as it cooks with egg whites only, vegetable oil, and orange juice. Try it, and you will see for yourself that the cake is full of flavor, and soft, puffy like a sponge, and full of aroma.

Ingredients
- 4 egg whites
- 100 g of sugar
- 200 ml orange juice (we will use the zest and juice of 3-4 oranges)
- 50 ml of milk
- 80 ml corn oil or other vegetal oil
- 250 g of flour
- 50 g of corn starch
- 1 baking powder
- a little salt
For the top
- 100 ml orange juice
- 100 g powder sugar
- 1 lugë corn starch
- Almond in slices, white chocolate drops
Directions
- We will beat the egg whites with a little salt until they become a stable foam.
- We will mix the sifted flour and starch in a bowl with the puff pastry.
- We will wash the oranges, dry them with water and grate their skins with a grater. Squeeze them and get ready and the liquid for the cake.
- In a bowl, mix the sugar well with the milk, oil, and orange juice.
- We will add the egg white meringue and mix it more carefully.
- We will also add the dry ingredients gradually until it makes a homogeneous dough. Add the minced orange peel.
- We will throw the created mass in a cake pan, which we have previously coated with butter and sprinkled with flour.
- Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Do the toothpick test.
- Meanwhile, we will prepare the orange cream for the decor. We will mix the orange juice, powdered sugar, and starch and put them on low heat, stirring until it makes a consistent and moderately thick orange sauce. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Meanwhile, the cake is ready, we remove it from the pan and place it on a plate and decorate it with pieces of white chocolate and sliced almonds. You can also use dried fruit or chocolate in colors to decorate it.
- Let it cool a bit and serve sliced.
