To prepare good and delicious jams, we recommend fruits to be mature and sweet because in this way we avoid adding too much sugar in them. Ingredients
- 2 kg of strawberry
- 750 g sugar
- 1 lemon
Directions
- Be sure that the strawberries that you choose for your jam are matured and fresh.
- Rinse the strawberry and let them dry in a big colander.
- Remove the tails and cut them in pieces. You can avoid cutting the smaller ones and let them as they are.
- Put all the fruits in a large bowl and cover with 1/4 of the quantity of sugar. Let them rest for one night in the refrigerator.
- Next day, filter the fruit’s liquid and transfer in a non-stick pan. Add all the rest of sugar and put the strawberry liquid to boil for 7-8 minutes until its thickness.
- Add the strawberry and let all boil for another 15 minutes, mixing every 2-3 minutes. At the end add the lemon juice. You can test the thickness by putting it on a plate that you have already cooled in the refrigerator. If needed you can boil for other 5-6 minutes.
we suggest two ways for the conservation process.
First one: Add the hot jam in the sterilized jars, close them well and let them cool backwards.
The second way: You let the jam to cool completely and after that, you have filled the jars, close well, sterilized them boiling in the water for 20 minutes. You can wrap the jars with a cotton towel to not touch each other during the boiling time. After that, let the jars cool. Put out of the casserole after cooling and transfer to a dry place.
Following these methods, you can keep your jams in good condition for one year. When you open each jar, conserve it in the refrigerator.
