This recipe is a combination of custard and shortcrust pastry, a perfect pie for a great time in the family.
Ingredients for a cake stencil of 24 diameter
- About 850-900 g of fresh ready-made sweet shortcrust pastry
- 500 g of homemade custard
- 100 g sliced peeled almonds
- 50 g powdered sugar
The shortcrust pastry is a culinary recipe to prepare sweet and salty tarts and pie.
Ingredients for the Shortcrust Pastry
- 400 g all-purpose flour
- 200 g unsalted butter
- 200 g sugar
- 2-eggs
- 8 g baking powder
- ground lemon zest

The custard is a culinary sauce made by milk and egg yolk. You can find all the recipe Here.
Directions
To prepare the Custard Pie, we need to have ready the shortcrust pastry and custard.
Preheat the oven at 180°C/350°F.
Separate the shortcrust pastry into two equal pieces and helping by a roller and a little flour, open two shortcrust pie layers. You can use a baking paper for a simple rolling process.
Grease a 24-2 cm cake stencil, or a baking dish, and transfer the first shortcrust layer to the baking dish, covering all the sides with shortcrust pastry. Cut the dough redundancies.
Add the custard at the baking dish. Add the second layer, covering well all the sides. Pierce the top helping by a fork, and cover the surface with the sliced peeled almonds.
Transfer the custard pie in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
Let the baked pie cool, transfer in a serving plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
