Potato Flan Recipe is a tasty main dish to enjoy in our family meals and a delicious way to combine mashed potatoes with ground beef.
It is an easy recipe to cook with ingredients that most of us use in our family menu. We can accompany this main course with a seasonal salad, or a creamy leek soup, or creamy asparagus soup, thus having a complete menu.
Ingredients
- 600 g of peeled potatoes
- 2 eggs
- 150 g of Cheddar cheese, or Mozzarella cheese, or Guda cheese
- salt, pepper, fresh parsley
For the filling
- 350-400 g of ground beef
- 1 onion
- 1 carrot
- ½ Cerely stalk
- 2 small tomatoes
- 1 green pepper
- 1 eggplant
- 1 zucchini
- salt, pepper, olive oil, parsley
Directions
- We will wash the potatoes and put them in a pot of water to boil for 15-20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a pan, add a little olive oil and finely chopped onion. Cook the onion for a few minutes until it starts to soften.
- Add the ground beef and continue to cook it until the meat changes color.
- In parallel with this process, we will cut the vegetables into cubes and gradually add them to the pan. So, add the carrot, celery, zucchini, pepper, and eggplant.
- After 2-3 minutes of cooking, add the diced peeled tomatoes. Add salt, pepper, and fresh parsley.
- We will also add a glass of water so that the whole mass cooks well.
- When the potatoes boil, peel them and press them with a potato masher.
- We will place the potatoes in a deep bowl, where we also add the eggs, minced cheese, salt, pepper, and finely chopped fresh parsley. We mix everything until we get a mass.
- In a baking pan, layout a baking sheet and roll out with your hands half the mass of potatoes like a noodle.
- Toss the cooked meat with the vegetables, open it evenly and toss the rest of the potato dough.
- Close the surface well, add some minced cheese to the surface and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
- Take it out of the oven, let it rest for a while. Cut it into slices and serve it warm.

This dish looks yummy! And I feel this potato flan, besides being delicious, has few ingredients, is easy to prepare and with a great health benefit result. I would like to prepare it but changing the focus and including a second “star” ingredient. The two would be potatoes and yogurt. Thanks for this detailed recipe.
