How do you cook Trahana in your family? Do you make it part of of your breakfast or even at other meals? I use to cook it as ingredients for various soup recipes, and today, I want to share a much tasty recipe of Trahana Soup and Chicken.

Trahana is much healthy, and we can prepare it in many ways, combining Trahana with vegetable juice, gravy, or milk. Today’s soup is simple, a soup full of flavor and consumed by everyone. It is similar to the taste of the creamy soups that we season with yogurt or lemon since the Trahana product cooks with flour and sour yogurt. It plays two functions using it in soups. It helps make the soup creamy, same as flour or starch, and it seasons our soups in sour taste.

Our soup cooks with chicken broth, and we will use chicken meat, too. The Trahana quantity depends on how creamy you want the soup. The ratio of it to the liquid mass is one tablespoon of dry Trahana to a glass of water with meat, vegetable juice, water, or milk.
It is a much tasty, and we can serve it for dinner or lunch. We like to accompany it with a spinach burek, leek burek, or milk burek.

  • 1 small chicken, or 1/2 big one.
  • 4 tbsp dry Trahana
  • 1-liter of chicken broth
  • 2 egg yolks
  • salt, pepper, 1-2 tbsp olive oil, 1-2 tbsp butter

Directions

  1. We will clean the chicken, rinse it well and cut it into pieces and place it in a pot of cold water and salt to boil the chicken from where we will get the liquid for the soup. It would be better if we use organic chicken. Regardless of that, I prefer to use it in skinless soup for less fat in the soup.
  2. When we have the liquid ready, we will drain it and place it in a pot. Meanwhile, in a bowl, we will dilute the Trahana with cold water. You can put it in water from the moment we put the chicken to a boil to dissolve it quickly.

  3. Add it to the chicken broth and stir with a wooden spoon at medium temperature until it completely dissolved and the broth starts to thicken.Trahana Soup-Family Cooking Recipes
  4. When the liquid starts to boil, in a bowl, we will beat the egg yolks and gradually add from the soup liquid so that the eggs reach the soup temperature little by little. We will add this mixture to the soup and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.

  5. Serve the soup warm!
